meet Randi
Hi, I'm Randi, a doula-tog, which means I help birthing people in their labors so that they can have their best birth experience possible & remember it forever. I'm a DONA-certified doula and Birth Becomes You–certified birth photographer, bringing 6+ years of experience attending births into the birth space. Positive birth experiences stem from a feeling of empowerment by being consistently supported, heard, and made to feel safe during your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum season. I’m here to walk with you through every step and beautifully document it for you along the way.
I laugh at every single “that’s what she said” joke my husband makes. They are frequent and terrible, but also perfect.
I recently discovered the joy of homemade chocolate vegan ice cream made out of bananas and peanut butter. It's all I think about.
I was diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s. It was a huge shift to get used to the idea that my brain processes things differently than my neurotypical pals, but I've found in many ways it is a superpower. Especially in the birth world where every single birth is unpredictable and new! I'm never bored!
2020 inspired an attempt at raised bed gardening, and 4 years later it's evolved to 3 beds and plans to take over the front yard too! Nothing beats homegrown tomatoes and cucumber.
I always knew I wanted to be an artist even in kindergarten, it's in my bones to create beauty.
My husband Joel and I had a whirlwind romance during the pandemic, and our handmade outdoor backyard wedding in 2020 was so dreamy. For two introverts we sure LOVE to throw a good party!
Our daughter Juniper Prudence was born via a fast-paced (for a first baby) midwife-assisted unmedicated hospital birth. I did scream, "Next time I'm getting an epidural!" but I didn't really mean it...probably. My birth story can be found here.
I literally listen to podcasts like Criminal, Armchair Expert, My Favorite Murder, and The Shrink Next Door all. day. long. I'm fascinated by stories of growth, resilience, the bittersweet, and the baffling.
It is important for me to find time to decompress. For me, that often looks like prayer, a long walk in the woods, a beer on the beach (my fave!), or more realistically it's been solitaire in the dark while rocking my little nursling.
