Puzzle Hack for Preschoolers, Kids, and Grown-ups
Puzzle Lovers!
If your preschool or school-aged kids love doing puzzles, this post is a must-read.
I stumbled upon a puzzle hack that I’m excited to share. My kids love puzzles-and I do too. But puzzles are so annoying, and little pieces are all over our house. Puzzle boxes get stepped on and dumped out. Knowing which pieces go to which puzzle can be a nightmare.
WELL. I found these puzzles at Target (they also have them on Amazon for the same price, linked below) and they are so great in so many ways.
things I love about these puzzles
Each box has 4 puzzles, which breaks down to about $2.50 per puzzle!
Every puzzle (all 8!) has a different color on the back which makes sorting the puzzle pieces a breeze if they get mixed up.
The puzzles are thick and high quality (aka pretty hard for kids to bend up). They’re really beautiful.
The pieces stay stuck together for easy movement of a chunk that a child finishes or for moving the whole puzzle! See pic below.
Each puzzle has the same dimensions (pieces are different sizes/quantities depending on the puzzle), which makes stacking the finished puzzles surprisingly satisfying.
My favorite part is that they are pretty enough and interesting enough that I really like doing them with my kids too. In fact, the other night, after the kids lost interest, I did a bunch of them all by myself. Haha!
To make them even easier to store, I put them all in their own ziplock bags along with the picture of the puzzle that I cut out from the boxes before recycling them. I store them all in a plastic bin. If we find a rogue piece around the house, we pop it in the box and next time we do puzzles we can easily put it in the right bag.
I’m a big fan. These would be perfect birthday or holiday gifts.
