Here at Sprout and Blossom, though birth doula support (and birth photography) is our specialty, we very much support and encourage the use of postpartum doulas as well. Postpartum doulas provide invaluable support in the first weeks/months after a new baby arrives. Until I experienced it myself, I did not understand what a game-changer it was to have the help of someone who truly understands the needs of a postpartum mother.

There are a number of great postpartum doulas in the Grand Rapids area - here are the three I recommend first to all my clients. Why? Because I know these women - they understand pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in unique ways and I trust them with those I care for. I also have personal experience being cared for by each of them. You can’t go wrong with any of the wonderful women on this list!
